Ekiti considers fate of illegal LG workers

Chairman of Local Government Service Commission in Ekiti State, Chief Ranti Adebisi, has said the commission will regularise the employment of council workers who were illegally recruited in the state.

Adebisi, who resumed as the chairman of LGSC earlier in the month, made this known in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday at a press conference.

The LGSC chairman said the past administration employed some council workers without following the rules but that Governor Kayode Fayemi had assured that no worker would be sacked.

He said, “There were political exigencies during the recruitment of the workers, but they were not employed from other states. They are indigenes of Ekiti State and we don’t want to just throw them out like that, so we are looking at what can be done for them.”
