There
are strong indications that high-flying Glasgow Rangers winger Sone
Aluko may be recalled by Nigeria for next month’s World Cup qualifiers
against Namibia and Malawi.
Top team officials specially informed
MTNFootball.com that Aluko, who has banged in 12 goals for Rangers
including a hat-trick at the weekend, will be one of the foreign pros to
be named tomorrow by coach Stephen Keshi.
Aluko, 23, therefore
has a chance to add to his one cap against Republic of Ireland in May
2009 after he represented England at various age-group levels.
He also featured for the country at the 2009 FIFA U20 World Cup in Egypt.
Wigan
Athletic winger Victor Moses is also in line to add to his first cap
against Rwanda in February, when he made his long-awaited debut for
Super Eagles.
MTNFootball.com has already reported that Chelsea
star Mikel Obi, John Utaka and goalkeeper Austin Ejide have all been
recalled by Keshi for a hectic month of qualifying action that would
also include a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations return leg match against
Rwanda.
Mikel has already given assurances he will be available for the Eagles games despite a long and demanding season with Chelsea.
Top
team officials also informed that the five foreign-based pros for the
friendly against Peru next week Wednesday could also be considered for
the qualifiers based on their performances in Lima.
