National Chairman, Action Congress of Nigeria, Chief Bisi Akande

Action Congress of Nigeria has vowed to upstage the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2015 general elections.
National Treasurer of the ACN, Chief
Kenneth Kobani, said on Tuesday that unfolding events had shown that
Nigerians were ready for a change.
Kobani, who spoke with our correspondent
in a telephone interview, argued that the ACN governor had performed
better than their PDP counterparts.
He said Nigerians were becoming more
enlightened on issues concerning their future and were ready to go the
extra mile to effect a change in the next three years.
The ACN chief said, “If we take a close
look at the performance of the governors in the various states across,
the country, we will notice that the ACN governors have done better that
 their counterparts in the PDP.
“Apart from Lagos State, other ACN
states do not receive as high as what most PDP states get as monthly
allocations. But with the performance, it is obvious that the ACN has
been more prudent than the PDP.
“Nigerians are aware of all these. Any
political party that thinks that the people are not watching should be
ready for a surprise in 2015.”
Making reference to the governorship
election in Edo State, Kobani said Governor Adams Oshiomhole deserved
his victory based on his performance.
He described Oshiomhole as a man with a
humble beginning, adding that the governor’s good performance in Edo
State within three years was an indication that the days of godfatherism
 in Nigerian politics were over.
Kobani attributed the failure of
government at all level to the politics of godfathers, adding that the
situation had set Nigeria backward economically and politically.
He said, “Take a look at the crop of
most members of the National Assembly and you will see that most of them
are not supposed to be there. But because their godfathers have fixed
them there, it has been one scandal after the other.
“The Edo governorship election is a
pointer to the fact that power belong to the people and not any
godfather. This message and mindset is what Nigerians will take to the
elections in 2015.”
