Youths in Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State jubilated last week  when the council chairman, Hon Mursiq Durosimi, promised to empower 10,000 among them.

“We have come to realise that the rate of unemployment in the country is on the increase by the day and the need to proffer immediate and lasting solution should be the concern of the government of the day,” he said.
He added: “To this end, as the chief accounting officer of this local government, equally concerned with the social menace that is fast penetrating into the fabric of our society, I have deemed it fit to come up with this package on entrepreneurship as a major tool to solving the problem”.
The council chair said the programme is aimed at helping the youths to discover their talents and work towards that direction.
“This entire package is channelled towards helping the youths to discover their talents, skills and area of interest; helping the youths to know how these talents could be developed by undergoing training; helping the youth to know why they have to use these developed skills gainfully, irrespective of their status at any point in life; helping the youth to know how and where many other skills apart from their talented areas could be acquired and lastly to help them discover how to maintain the skills acquired through out their life time,” he said.
Speaking on the topic Harnessing Your Talent So That You Can Create Wealth,  the Director of Professional Service of PAN African University, Dr. Mike Okolo, urged the youths to discover their talents, saying wealth is not all about getting money but about creating values which he said, would bring money at the end.
