Ajimobi doesn’t deduct LGs’ allocations – ALGON

Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi
Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, Oyo State chapter, has denied claims  that  Governor Abiola Ajimobi makes deductions from local governments’ federal allocations.
The ALGON said this in a statement by its Chairman, Yekeen Popoola, and Secretary, Ayode Abass-Alashinloye, on Monday.
The body also said it was not true that the state government diverted the LGs allocations to finance some of its  road rehabilitation projects.
The statement read, “The Abiola Ajimobi administration is open. We have always had our deliberations on what we want to do at ALGON level.
“We seek approval from the Commissioner (for Local Government Affairs) or the governor as stipulated by law. That is their only involvement.”
It described as false a report alleging a friction between some leaders of the Action Congress of Nigeria and the governor over the reported deductions of money from the Federation Account and Excess Crude Oil Accounts.
Meanwhile, former governor Lam Adesina  is optimistic that  the ACN will emerge victorious at the local government council poll in the state next year.
Adesina, who was represented by his Personal Assistant, Alhaji Tajudeen Azeez, during the one-year in office of representative of Ibarapa East/Ido federal constituency, Mr. Sunday Adepoju, said the party’s achievements would persuade the electorate.
He said, “Today, we witness people-oriented programmes targeted at alleviating poverty in the society.
“The programmes embarked upon by representatives of the party in the 33 local government areas are testimonies of the fact that the ACN is the only party that has the interest of the people at heart.”
