Mrs. Uche Ekwunife of the All  Progressives Grand Alliance was on Thursday, declared winner of the  rerun for Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia Federal Constituency held on  Wednesday.
The Returning Officer, Prof. Emeka  Ezeonu, who announced the results, said Ekwunife polled 29,005 votes to  beat her closest rival, Ferdinand Nwankwo of the Action Congress of  Nigeria, who got 21,948 votes.
Ekwunife, who is the chairman of the  House Committee on Ecology as well as leader of Anambra and APGA  Caucuses in the House, has extended a hand of fellowship to her opponent  while dedicating her victory to God and to her constituents.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ebele Obi of the ACN  was declared the winner of the rerun for Idemili South State Assembly seat.
Obi defeated the immediate past member  of the House of Assembly and candidate of APGA, Mr. Tony Ezekwelu, and  Mr. Ifeanyi Igwe of the PDP to emerge winner.
Obi will become the sixth ACN member in  the State House of Assembly which only last week swore in Mr. Victor  Okoye of Anambra West to replace Tony Nwabunwanne of APGA, following his  victory at the Court of Appeal, Enugu in December.
