Soldiers detonate car bomb in Maiduguri

Soldiers on Wednesday found and safely detonated a car bomb in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Military spokesman, Col. Victor Ebhaleme told journalists that soldiers discovered the car on Wednesday morning in the city widely regarded as spiritual home to the Boko Haram sect.
Boko Haram is blamed for killing at least 286 people so far this year, according to an Associated Press count.
On Tuesday, a police anti-bomb squad member died in Kaduna after an explosive detonated inside a plastic bag he was examining.
No one has claimed responsibility for that attack.
