Eagles Ready For Pharaohs

Reports reaching P.M.Sports from Dubai early today say the Super Eagles are battle ready for the Pharaohs of Egypt in Thursday’s international friendly match.
Juwon Oshaniwa of Sharks of Port Harcourt, who is currently with the team in Dubai said they are not taking the tie lightly despite being a friendly. He stated that they are going to put in their all to ensure they are not disgraced.
The defender, who spoke on brila fm early today opined that they are in high spirits and raring to go because the country’s name in football is at stake and don’t want to dent it.
“We are ready for the Egyptians, people back home may think it is a friendly but we are not seeing the tie that way because we have been in camp for a while so we won’t to be disgraced, we are going for victory”.
Speaking in the same vein, Nigeria captain Joseph Yobo, who will not play tomorrow’s game, charged the players to go out for victory.
Yobo, who won his 87th cap for Nigeria in February, disclosed from his base in Turkey that he has trust in the players and believes in their ability to defeat the Egyptians.
“Yes, I have always said it that, I believe in the Nigerian league, I’m a product of the league,” said Yobo.
“I played with some of them against Rwanda in Kigali and they all played well, kudos to them all. We need to start building a Team B now, by the time we come back to the country then we are going to have the blend of both the locals and the pros.”
“I have confidence in the home Eagles, we don’t even need to call them home Eagles, they are the real Super Eagles, and I believe they will do us proud in Dubai,” the record-capped Nigeria captain said.
The last time Nigeria faced Egypt was at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola where the Eagles lost 3-1 in their group opening encounter.
The Eagles will play on Thursday in Dubai, as part of warming up ahead of their 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and 2014 World Cup qualification matches in June.
