Convention: Pdp Is Sick, Needs Surgical Operation

One of the aspirants to the office of the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Oladimeji Fabiyi, in the forthcoming National Convention of the party has declared that the party was seriously sick and needed surgical operation to stand the test of time.
Addressing newsmen in Abuja while unfolding his agenda to the press at a media parley, Chief Fabiyi declared that “presently, PDP is seriously sick, it has been badly wounded and it needs surgical operation to survive.”
According to him, “PDP needs reorganisation; it needs repositioning; there is lack of internal democracy in PDP; having worked at the National Secretariat for several years and served under three different National Working Committees, NWCs, as well as serving on various National Convention sub-committees such as finance, security and accommodation, among others, I’m convinced that I have had enough wealth of experience to move the party forward as its National Secretary.”
Chief Fabiyi, who was flanked by the Director-General of his campaign organisation, Mr. Segun Aderemi, said that if given the mandate, his focus would be on the following areas: “party discipline and supremacy, entrenchment of internal democracy, recovering of lost states in the South-West, ensuring a virile and strong PDP, good governance and accountability, genuine reconciliation and bridge building, grassroots participation and development, among others.
