Amosun revokes Daniel’s father’s church C of O

Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has revoked the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) of the Regeneration Church of God, also known as Abraham’s Tabernacle, Sagamu, built by his predecessor, Chief Gbenga Daniel, in honour of his late father, the Most Reverend Abraham Adebola Daniel.
It will be recalled that some officials of the state government had, last Thursday, pulled down the gate house and some parts of the church fence.
The state government, on Monday, while justifying its action at a press conference addressed by the Director-General, Bureau of Lands and Survey, Mrs Ronke Sokefun, said that the government acted on the recommendations of the Judicial Commission of Enquiry on Land Matters, which was set up by the present administration.
Governor Amosun, it will be recalled, set up a commission of enquiry to investigate land matters from May 29, 2003 to May, 29, 2011.
She said that the commission discovered that there were many irregularities in the issuance of the title documents, hence recommended its revocation.
Sokefun added that the commission discovered that the C of O, with number 60/60/761, had already existing valid title.
