One week after multiple explosions rocked Kaduna metropolis, Twin bomb explosions again rocked the state capital on Tuesday, killing a mobile policeman attached to the state anti- bomb squad.
The first explosion occurred at the highly populated Ungwan Seriki area of the metropolis, opposite the Kaduna State Transport Authority (KSTA) loading bay where several state transport companies from the north load their passengers.
The Nation gathered the affected police man whose identity or rank could not be ascertained at the time of this report was said to have gone to check the content of a black polythene bag left at the junction by unknown persons when it exploded, tearing him into pieces.
Residents of the area ran for safety on hearing the sound of the explosion which was said to have shaken the surrounding buildings, while vehicular movement along the road was immediately brought to a standstill as car owners made immediate u-turn to avoid the area.
An eye witness told The Nation that shortly after the first explosion, another polythene bag containing the second explosive was discovered at another location about 500m away from the first blast.
When The Nation visited the scene, the body of the dead police officer was seen lying on the main road, while heavily armed security operatives have cordoned off the area, causing heavy traffic snarl as the major road on which the blast occurred links the city centre to the northern part of the metropolis.
