Chairman of the Ondo State chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Mrs. Jumoke Anifowose, on Friday, resigned her appointment.
She attributed her decision to her determination to contest the October 20 governorship election in the state.
Anifowose, who is a daughter of a former governor of the old Ondo State, the late Chief Adekunle Ajasin, said she would execute people-oriented projects if elected.
She told the gathering on the occasion held at the party secretariat in Akure that her administration would bring unprecedented development to the state.
The event was attended by her brother, Mr. Tokunbo Ajasin and other party chieftains
She said, “I have to resign my appointment to enable me to follow my heart.
“I have been thinking about it for a long time. I have also consulted widely and sought advice from my family members, and party chieftains within and outside the state.
“All those I spoke to encouraged me to forge ahead; hence I have to resign to enable me to begin aggressive membership recruitment from all the nooks and crannies of the state.”
Anifowose submitted her letter of resignation to the Secretary of the party in the state, Mr. Adegboyega Adedipe, for delivery to the national secretariat of the party.
