Kwara United top striker, Kabir Sanusi has said that the teams’ slim 1-0 loss to Shooting Stars of Ibadan mid-week at the Lekan Salami Stadium was due to hard luck.
Sanusi told Inside Out Premier League after the game that he and his colleagues played well but their host were bent on picking three points from the game.
“We played well today but couldn’t find the back of the net due to hard luck. 3SC played as wounded lion that needs survival,” Sanusi said.
On the spirit with which 3SC played the game, the forceful striker said, “Shooting Stars did well today, I don’t know why they have been playing badly all this while. I don’t think it is because there is a new coach that is why they played this way. I feel it’s because of were they are on the log,”
On the team’s weekend tie against another south west team, Rising Stars, Sanusi said, “We are prepared for the game as we have been looking ahead of it, given the fact that they are one of the teams that gained promotion from the lower ranks last season. So we know we must win the tie else, we will not be taken serious by other top teams,” he added.
