A Former Commissioner for Transport in Ondo state, Otunba Omoniyi Omodara, has warned the Governor Olusegun Mimiko and his aides to stop persuading him to return to the ruling Labour Party [LP]
The former commissioner told reporters at Oba-Ile in Akure North Local Government Area that Governor Mimiko had been sending emissaries to woo him back to the party.
He spoke while receiving members of the Ondo State Youth for Good Governance (OSGG) who defected to ACN in their hundreds.
According to him, “Mimiko has been sending his political aides to lure me back to LP and even Mimiko has called me on several occasions begging me to come back to the party.
Adaramola said “no matter the intimidation or pressure; he would not succumb to advances of Governor Mimiko.”
He said “his problem is about how to get me and Saka Lawal back to the party, but I told him I can never eat my vomit, I have already said bye-bye to LP and I will not come back, my plan is on how to build my new party and ensure the party wins the gubernatorial election.”
“No amount of money will force me to turn back and join LP again, am not a beggar, i’m not hungry,  I have a political value for myself, family and community”.
Omodara also said “two commissioners from his neighboring local government  also dialogued with him on the same issue of coming back  to  LP” .
He said: “I am not a politician without dignity. Any person who plays God and fails to practice what he preaches does not deserve my company.
“As a committed Christian and ‘Baba Ijo’ in C&S Church, I will never be like the other man who after visiting Lagos still reneged on his earlier promise to dump LP, by rejoining the party for whatever reason.”
The ACN chieftain pointed out that “Asiwaju Bola Tinubu supported Mimiko wholeheartedly during his struggle to retrieve his mandate from the Peoples Democratic Party[PDP] but failed to acknowledge this because of lust for power. ”
Omodara said “I contributed  to the emergence of  LP administration in the state, but  at the end of the day, an alien became a dictator for the state government and its cabinet.”
Adaramola was one of the pioneer members of the party, but dumped the party last year following a misunderstanding with the governor.
He claimed that Mimiko has turned the party to his own family property, making decisions without consulting some chieftains of the party.
Pioneer members of LP that joined ACN are former Special Adviser to governor on Planning and Strategy, Mr. Saka Lawal, former State Chairman of the party, Dr.   Olaiya Oni, former commissioner for Technical, Vocational and Adult education, Mr. Solagbade Amodeni, Senator, Ajayi Boroffice, Akure South/North House of Representative lawmaker and Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde among others.
