Gov election: Oshiomhole visits Osunbor

Governor Adams Oshiomhole, on Thursday, for the first time since the 2007 elections, set aside his incessant verbal attacks on his immediate predecessor, Professor Oserheimen Osunbor, by payin him a visit  at his home at Iruekpen, Esan West Local Government area of the state.

Oshiomhole told Professor Osunbor that they should forget the differences between them and work “together to take the state to another level.”

Osunbor said he shared the same vision of developing the state with Oshiomhole to make lives of the people better.

Former Osunbor did not promise to leave his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but he, however, pledged to work with the governor to develop the state, just as he urged the people of the state to support Oshiomhole and realise his “dream of total development for the state.”

According to him, he did not seek the office of the governor of the state for personal reasons, but to bring development to the state and that Oshiomhole should be supported for his re-election bid.

Oshiomhole has been wooing members of the opposition parties to his side since the February 25 gubernatorial primary of the PDP that produced Major-General Charles Airhiavbere (retd) as the candidate of the party for the July 14 gubernatorial election in the state.

The Edo State governor had earlier met with the first runner-up in the primary election, Kenneth Imansuangbon and later met with another aspirant, Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, before Thursday’s visit to Osunbor.
